Gordon was a Councillor for Derby Ward 2019-2023, covering some of Ormskirk and Westhead village. He was elected Mayor of West Lancashire for the year 2021/22. He raised funds for the Birchwood Centre and St Anne’s Guides.

Gordon’s current concerns and focus are:

• Keeping Ormskirk’s Park Pool open
• Improvement to the County Council’s approach to road maintenance and potholes
• Flood management improvements on Hurlston Brook
• That West Lancashire will be overlooked still more than it is currently, if West Lancashire becomes part of a mega council that includes Preston.
• Community Safety issues in Ormskirk Town Centre

Gordon has lived in West Lancashire for over 30 years. He lives in Ormskirk with his wife Jackie and one of his grown-up children. Having retired from his role as a Police Officer in 2013, Gordon worked as the Designated Safeguarding Officer for Liverpool County Football Association until February 2021 when he took up a role at Ormskirk Hospital in the Porter & logistics team.
