Adi Cotter

Adi (Adrian) Cotter is a resident living in the Burscough Town ward with my wife Yvonne.  He has lived here for almost 5 years having returned from Europe in 2019.  Adi specifically chose Burscough over other places due to family ties; the semi-rural location; great transport links; and excellent local amenities.  He feels it is a great place to live. He is active in the community as a volunteer with Burscough litter pickers.

Adi is standing for election because OWL are Independent and Adi wants to fight for a good deal for Burscough from the council.  Adi works closely with Councillor Paul Hesketh.  OWL is expanding and Paul is moving to fight the Burscough Bridge and Rufford ward as he lives off Red Cat Lane, as we seek Independent voices for the whole of Burscough.

Adi knows the concerns that residents have about the amount of housing development especially when we don’t see infrastructure improvements following.  The Borough Council could and should change the rules to allow the levies on housebuilders from new housebuilding to be used to address flooding problems as other councils already do.

The protection of our green belt and farmland; and the need to keep the council’s costs and council tax under control are concerns that Adi shares with residents.  He also want to see the planned £2 million improvement at Burscough Sports Centre underway.  Less talk and more action from the Labour council.
