Glenburn Fields Petition – Ask Lancashire County Council to promote a mixed development with Community Sports on Glenburn Field NOT wall to wall housing
STOP PRESS: 10 November 2025 Success! You and we won! In a response to the petition the County Council have confirmed that Glenburn Fields will not become wall-to-wall housing and that sports facilities are under active consideration. Many pessimists say people are always just ignored. Well working together, you and Our West Lancashire have shown different.
Thank you for caring and credit to the Lancashire County Council Leadership on this matter.
Stop the wall-to-wall 425 houses on Glenburn Field and provide some community sports facilities instead.

We the undersigned call on the new administration at Lancashire County Council to promote a mixed development with Community Sports included on the site of the former Glenburn Sports College. As owners of the land, the County Council has a veto over what happens on the land. Community Sports was always a feature at the site when Glenburn Sports College operated and a community sports facility should feature in the future plans for the site. The current plans for around 425 houses are not acceptable and Lancashire County Council should tell West Lancashire Council so.
