Our West Lancashire reaction to Lancashire county council election results

One in Five voters support Our West Lancashire in Lancashire County Council Elections

Ian Davis and Gordon Johnson, the Our West Lancashire Candidates at the Lancashire County Council elections, have thanked all their helpers and voters for the wonderful local support they were given at the LCC elections saying their solid showing was a platform for the future.

Gordon Johnson said, “For the first round of County Hall elections since the formation of Our West Lancashire, to take 20% of the vote across the two wards we contested in an election that was most certainly overshadowed by the calling of the General Election, shows that Independents are gathering support in their championing of local residents concerns and are certainly changing the face of local politics in West Lancashire.”

Ian Davis added, “Considering the whole political scene changed in the weeks leading up to this election and we were also campaigning in some parts of the Borough for the first time, to receive the support of 1 in 5 voters was most encouraging.

We are convinced that we can progress further at local ward level at future Borough Elections where our candidates are well known and respected for their views and work. The results last week put us in a great position for the expected by-election in Derby Ward later this summer – the same ward in which Adrian Owens was elected for Our West Lancashire last year.”
