On the back of Our West Lancashire’s success getting the council to restore funding for the Christmas tree outside the parish church in Ormskirk along with funding for Skelmersdale’s Christmas lights; OWL have now gone a stage further by helping residents who are struggling this Christmas with a donation to Ormskirk Foodbank. 

In tandem with Morrisons who topped up the funds, OWL supplied three trolleys of much needed short supply items to Ormskirk Foodbank based at New Church House in the town centre. 

Our West Lancashire Chairman, Adrian Owens said, “Given the cost-of-living crisis, it is important that we help residents and communities who are finding it difficult to make ends meet this Christmas.  We are very grateful to Morrisons for their support in making our donation go further to help ensure more families in Ormskirk don’t go hungry this year. 

OWL led the community effort to sustain the tradition of a Christmas tree by the parish church for 5 years. When the council eventually rediscovered its Christmas spirit and agreed to fund these festive decorations once again, we had some tree fund money left over and we think the best way to use it is to help those in need in our community.”
