Gordon Johnson - Our West Lancashire

Gordon was a Councillor for Derby Ward 2019-2023, covering some of Ormskirk and Westhead village. He was elected Mayor of West Lancashire for the year 2021/22. He raised funds for the Birchwood Centre and St Anne’s Guides.

Gordon’s current concerns and focus are:

Keeping Ormskirk’s Park Pool open
Improvement to the County Council’s approach to road maintenance and potholes
Flood management improvements on Hurlston Brook
That West Lancashire will be overlooked still more than it is currently, if West Lancashire becomes part of a mega council that includes Preston.
Community Safety issues in Ormskirk Town Centre

Gordon has lived in West Lancashire for over 30 years. He lives in Ormskirk with his wife Jackie and one of his grown-up children. Having retired from his role as a Police Officer in 2013, Gordon worked as the Designated Safeguarding Officer for Liverpool County Football Association until February 2021 when he took up a role at Ormskirk Hospital in the Porter & logistics team, where he currently still works in the theatres department for Merseyside & West Lancashire teaching hospitals NHS trust. He is also currently Vice-Chairman of Skelmersdale United Football Club.
