OWL Councillors Welcome Plans for Improved Parking on Scott Estate

Residents on the town’s Scott Estate will have more parking spaces in plans welcomed by local councillors Jane Thompson and Kate Mitchell from Council Independents, Our West Lancashire

Sephton Drive and Whittle Drive residents should benefit from proposals for 34 new off-street parking spaces on currently poorly used grassed areas.

Cllr Thompson said, “I’ve been working with Sephton Drive residents for a very long time to get this scheme from an initial idea to detailed plans which have now been submitted for planning approval.  The project money from the council house rent fund has already been approved for both these schemes. So, finally the schemes should go ahead later this year, subject to planning permission.”

Cllr Mitchell added, “My colleagues Adrian Owens and Ian Davis steered a similar scheme through to completion on Holly Close in Westhead a few years ago.  So I know how much these improvements will be welcomed by the tenants concerned and by their neighbours in the wider area.  It will reduce the danger from having so much on-street parking.”
